Paul tells us that we are personal letters of recommendation, we are open testimonies to the power of Christ in our lives. As we write we give out words that are not merely pleasant thoughts on paper, but are engraved onto the hearts of our readers.
Words are out medium of communication. They communicate who we are and what we think, feel, and believe. Words build up and tear down. Words encourage and deride. Words can sow love or hatred. Words can bring laughter or tears.
Again and again the message was driven home: “People don’t want to read about you. They want to read about Me. Write about My Word. Make it come alive. Bring it to your generation. Leave the rest to Me.”
The highest compliment you can receive is when readers or listeners share how you have started to reflect the traits of your close friend, Jesus, and more importantly, how you have helped them into a new relationship with Him.
